  • crowned text v1 tutorial

You can put this anywhere, but I like to put it over my text.

    What you'll need:
  • One of the Photoshop programs.
  • crown brush pack

  • You'll be making something like this:

and this is it with text from a sign I made. (I cropped out everything but the text).

    The Steps

    1. Create a new layer. Use the color #404040 and place the brush down (if you're putting it over text than line it up where you want it) I'm not showing mine over text until the end.

    2. Double click on the layer. You're going to add a drop shadow, inner shadow, and gradient overlay.

    3. Hold in the CTRL key on your keyboard and click on the little thumbnail (preview) of the layer. I outlined the thumbnail in red so you see what I'm talking about.

    4. The crown should be selected now.

    5. Click "Layer >> New Fill Layer >> and choose a gradient or color, whichever you want. I chose gradient. Make the angle -90 if you chose gradient too. Drag the crown gradient layer UNDER the original crown layer. Right click on the gradient layer and click Rasterize Type. Click "Filter >> Other >> Offset" and match your settings to mine.

    6. Click "Filter >> Noise >> Add Noise.

Add a drop shadow at Opacity 20%, Distance 0, Spread 0, and Size 5.

    Finished Product:

and this is it with text from a sign I made. (I cropped out everything but the text).
