  • preppy text v17

    What you'll need:
  • One of the Photoshop programs.
  • this stripe pattern
  • this grunge pattern

  • You'll be making something like this:

    With grunge:

    The Steps

    1. Type out your text. Color it in like this (click here)

    2. Duplicate the layer 3 times. You should now have 4 text layers. On the 2nd layer, use the move tool to move it to the right twice and down twice. Click "Filter >> Noise >> Add Noise" >> rasterize it! >> match your settings to mine.

    I have this so far

    3. On the 3rd layer, use the move tool to move it to the right 4 times and down 4 times. Add a color overlay

    I have this so far

    4. On the 4th layer, move it to the right 6 (or 7) times and down 6 times. Add a color overlay with the color #333333

    5. On the 1st layer, Add an Inner Glow, Bevel and Emboss, and a Pattern Overlay.

    I have this so far

    6. Make sure all layers are rasterized (right click them and rasterize) Create 4 new layers. Merge 1 layer with each text layer. You'll end up with 4 layers.

    7. Merge the 4 text layers together.

Add a 2px stroke with the color #333333

    8. Create a new layer. Merge it with the text layer. Add a 2px gradient stroke with the angle 0.

    Add grunge if you want.

    And here's another example!

click here to download the text psd. You'll have to add the strokes yourself though!
