how to make preppy text v2What you'll need:
What you'll be making:
The Steps1. Type out the text you want. It doesn't matter in what color cause you're gonna have gradient text. Right click on the text layer and click "Rasterize Type." Right click on the text layer again and click "Blending Options." Click "Gradient Overlay." match your settings to this, except with your gradient, obviously.
Click Stroke and do a 2px white stroke. Your text should look like this but with whatever font & gradient you're using (obviously)
2. Create a new layer, drag it under the text layer, right click on the text layer and click merge down. Right click >> Blending Options AGAIN. Click "Pattern Overlay" and match your settings to mine below. Then click "Stroke" and match your settings to below too.
3. Create a new layer, drag it under the text layer, right click on the text layer and click merge down.
Your text should look something like this now.
4. Create a new layer, drag it under the text layer, right click on the text layer and click merge down.
Go back to blending options >> click stroke >> match your settings to mine. Use whatever scanline pattern you have. If you don't have a scanline pattern than go to my patterns and get one!
5. Add a drop shadow if you want and then you're done!
