preppy text v6

What you'll need:
  • One of the Photoshop Programs
  • this grunge pattern
  • this pattern

  • What you'll be making:

    The Steps

    1. Type out your text and color it how you want.

    2. Right click on the text layer >> Click "Blending Options" >> Click "Pattern Overlay." Match your settings to mine with the grunge pattern I provided for you.

    3. Right click on the text layer. Click "Rasterize Layer." Create a new layer (layer >> new >> layer >> ok). Drag the new layer under the text layer. Right click on the text layer and click "Merge Down."

    4. Go to the blending options again, You're going to do a "Pattern Overlay" and "Inner Shadow" now. Match both settings to mine.

text should look like this now

    5. Right click on the text layer. Click "Rasterize Layer." Create a new layer (layer >> new >> layer >> ok). Drag the new layer under the text layer. Right click on the text layer and click "Merge Down."

    6. Go back to blending options and click "Stroke." This is so simple, I'm not providing a picture for it. size- 2, position- outside, blend mode-normal, opacity 100, color- 282828.

    should have this so far

    7. Right click on the text layer. Click "Rasterize Layer." Create a new layer (layer >> new >> layer >> ok). Drag the new layer under the text layer. Right click on the text layer and click "Merge Down."

    8. Go to the Blending Options yet again, Click "Stroke" and match your settings to mine, but with your gradient (obviously).

    9. Right click on the text layer. Click "Rasterize Layer." Create a new layer (layer >> new >> layer >> ok). Drag the new layer under the text layer. Right click on the text layer and click "Merge Down."

    10. Blending Options again >> You're gonna add another "Stroke" (with your scanline pattern this time. If you don't have one than check out my patterns section) and a "Drop Shadow." Match settings to mine.

    You're done!
