  • understanding filezilla tutorial

Filezilla can be confusing at first. It takes time to get use to. Hopefully this helps!

    The Steps

    1. I did a screen shot of Filezilla. I blurred out some of my file names and blacked out my login info, so don't mind that.

click here to view the screen shot.

You'll notice I gave sections a number between 1-6. Refer to those numbers to understand which section I am talking about.

    SECTION 1:
This is where you login to Filezilla.

    SECTION 2:
This shows you what commands you're giving Filezilla to do. Basically, it's a formal way of keeping track of everything you do on Filezilla. It will tell you if an action fails. I don't really care about this section.

    SECTION 3:
These are the files on your computer. Once you click one, it'll show up where section #4 is.

    SECTION 4:
When you open a file in section #3, it shows up here.

    SECTION 5:
These are the main files in your website. Once you click one, it'll show up where section #6 is. I have to go to my public_html folder and so do alot of other people. I'm not sure about where you have to go. It depends on your hosting stuff.

    SECTION 6:
When you open a file in section #5, it shows up here. This is where you'll find your directories and files (pictures and everything). This is where you can add stuff to your website, delete it, edit it, what ever you gotta do.
